Kids and Parents – Looking for summer fun?

Consider these activities sponsored by the Paso Robles Children’s Museum. 

June 20: Free Exchange Friday. 11 am to 5 pm, while supplies last!

Children can get in for free this Friday by turning in an incandescent light bulb from home, and exchanging it for a compact fluorescent light bulb at the Museum. Limit three children/light bulbs per family – good only while supplies last!

June 28: Ice Cream at the Museum. 11 am to 1 pm

Join your friends for fun in the sun at the Museum. Soft serve ice cream will be served, compliments of Hospitality Catering. Free for members, $1 non-members.

June 28: Chumash Storytelling at the Paso Robles City Library. 1 pm – 2 pm, 3 pm – 4 pm.

Chumash elder Alan Salazar will take you on a journey through the past as he shares stories, regalia and the traditions of his people. All ages. Free.

July 5th: The Children’s Museum at Home Depot. 10 am to 2 pm

Join the Children’s Museum at Home Depot in Atascadero as we educate the community about energy conservation. Turn in your incandescent light bulbs in exchange for a compact fluorescent light bulb – limit three per family.

July 7 through 10: Creek Sitters at the Atascadero Community Center. 9 am-1 pm

Learn about the critters of the creek environment while playing games and having fun in and near Atascadero Creek. This camp concludes with a creek cleanup. Don’t be surprised if special guests come to visit!! 9 to 11 year olds. $25 members, $50 non-members. July 14 through 17: Earth Explorations at Cuesta College North Campus. 9 am – 1 pm

Play games to learn how the earth supports life. Animals will visit daily from Zoo To You. Each day will involve service projects for the animals. 9 to 11 year olds. $25 members, $50 non-members. Registration required – www.comunityprograms.net or call 546-3132 (Cuesta College Community Programs).

July 21, 24, 28, 31, August 4, 7: Eat Smart, Play Hard at the Children’s Museum. 2 pm - 4 pm

This is a camp designed to give families information for healthy living. Dietician Susan Gollnick will lead children and their parents through games, fun and healthy snacking. 6 to 8 year olds, parents must attend. Free. Registration required – call the Children’s Museum at 238-7432.

July 26: Come Fly With Me at the Estrella Warbird Museum. 9 am - 11 am

Learn from the experiences of the past. We’ll visit the Museum, get a chance to climb inside a real fighter plane, and then design and fly paper airplanes. 9 – 11 year olds. $5 members, $10 non-members.

We’ll share space with the Pioneer Day Museum. Bring your cameras for photo opportunities in costumes and carriages. Chumash storytelling throughout the day. All ages. Free with Fair admission.
