PASO ROBLES, CA - November 9, 2007 - The Board of
Directors for the Children's Museum at the Paso Robles
Volunteer Firehouse announced today their grand opening,
scheduled for Friday, November 23, 2007 from 11 am - 6
pm. The Children's Museum is located in downtown Paso
Robles at 623 13th Street in the old volunteer
firehouse.
"We are thrilled to be opening our doors to the public,"
stated Natalie Schaefer, Executive Director for the
museum. "Years of work have gone into this project and I
believe the community will be thrilled with the result."
"Our mission was to create an interactive learning
environment while honoring the heritage of the volunteer
fire force in Paso Robles," explained Rick Minton,
President of the Board of Directors. "We have met our
goals and look forward to presenting it to the
community."
The Children's Museum at the Paso Robles Volunteer
Firehouse will be open on Mondays and Thursdays 10 am -
4 pm, Fridays and Saturdays 11 am - 6 pm, Sundays 1 pm -
5 pm, closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Admission will
be $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for children (1-13) and $5.00
for seniors (65 plus). Family memberships will be
available for $125. School and community outreach
programs will be underway soon, and birthday party
reservations are being taken now.
The Board of Directors was formed in 2002 with the
mission of transforming the former volunteer firehouse
on 13th Street in Paso Robles into a children's museum,
commemorating the volunteer fire force and creating an
interactive learning environment for children ages 2 -
13. Construction began in late 2006.
