THE SIREN GAZETTE

Our 10,000th Visitor! We crossed over the 10,000th patron mark in April with identical twins Cayden and Jackson Kozar of Paso Robles. Our members love the Museum, and we love our members! Share us with others!

Summer Hours! Beginning May 1 and running through September 30, our hours will be Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 11 am to 6 pm, and Sunday 1 pm to 5 pm.

Volunteers! We are currently serving the public with 22 people of ages ranging from teenagers to retired folks. Volunteers help us with school groups, special events, and at the Museum with supervision of the facility. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Tamara Richardson. Our next Volunteer Training will be held May 21, 1 pm to 3 pm.

Staff! We welcome Barbara Landis to our team of professionals at the Museum. Formerly in the field of behavioral management and business development, Barbara decided to work with children because “it is fun!” We are very happy to have her on board.

Summer Events! Are you looking for something to engage your children in this summer? Look no further – the Museum offers learning fun for everyone. Check our Summer Events schedule for planning your child’s summer fun. Please call if you have any questions, or would like to register your child for the events.

Third Sundays! Every third Sunday of the month, the Museum is open for families with special needs children. The time available is 10 am to noon. Enjoy the Museum with fewer distractions! Call for details.

Birthday Parties! The Museum has a Fun Room dedicated to birthday parties. What a great place to spend your child’s special day! We usually book several months in advance, so call now to reserve your space. Fees apply – call Tamara Richardson, our Operations Manager for more information.

Special Events in May! Saturday May 3rd, 11 am to 2 pm is a Bike Safety Rally at the Children’s Museum, sponsored by a Speech class at Cuesta College North Campus.

May 6th, the Flex Your Power Campaign kickoff will be held at the Paso Robles City Council Chambers, 7 pm.

May 7th, the Youth Commission is holding their regularly scheduled meeting in the Museum from 3:30 pm to 5 pm.

May 10th, the STEM Showcase in San Luis Obispo will feature science projects from youth around the county. 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

May 17th is Children’s Day in the Park, held at the Atascadero Lake Park off Highway 41 from 11 am to 3 pm.

May 21st is our regularly scheduled Volunteer Training, 1 pm to 3 pm.

May 24th, Chumash Elder Alan Salazar will be at the Paso Robles City Library telling traditional stories at 12 noon, and again at 2 pm.

May 31, the Paso Robles Boys and Girls Club is holding their Kid’s Carnival between 10 am and 4 pm.

Arts and Crafts! We offer a variety of interesting arts and crafts activities for children and their parents. Different activities are scheduled each day of the month. These creations make great gifts and mementos for scrapbooks or albums. The activities are designed to benefit your young artist by helping them learn how to express themselves in a creative way. See the calendar below for the May Creation Station activities.
